Lawyer Regrets Bahar Bin Smith Reported Again to Police

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – Attorney Bahar Bin Smith regretted the steps taken by a number of parties to report their clients to the police.

According to the attorney, the steps for dialogue and deliberation should be prioritized and not reporting to the police.

“We deeply regret this because we think that this matter can still be communicated and dialogue can still be put forward,” said Bahar Bin Smith’s attorney, Aziz Yanuar, in a press statement, Monday (12/20/2021).

He said that the party who reported Bahar should have done it tabayun first.

Because, said Azis, Bahar Bin Smith is ready to engage in dialogue for the common good.

“Bahar bin Smith, God willing, is a party who is always willing to discuss and find solutions for the common good,” said Aziz.

According to him, reporting to the police should be the last step if dialogue and communication cannot be achieved.

“We should hope that this punishment should be a last resort like that,” he concluded.
