Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The National Transportation Accident Committee (KNKT) has carried out an investigation into the collision of the Jabodebek LRT train on the Cawang-Cibubur section. As quoted from the KNKT release, the accident occurred due to human error.
“The collision of the TS 29 and TS 20 LRT Jabodedek test train series that occurred on October 25, 2021 became the most prominent incident throughout 2021. Field findings indicate that the TS 29 technician experienced distraction due to the use of mobile phones so that they do not focus on running the train, seeing the speed and position of the train,” wrote the KNKT, Monday (20/12/2021).
In general, in the train mode, KNKT has carried out accident investigations of five cases (including collisions of the Jabodebek LRT train) with the categories of accidents being three derailments/overturned and two collisions.
Previously, the President Director of PT Industri Kereta Api (INKA) Budi Novianto had revealed the chronology of the collision between the Jabodebek LRT section of the Cawang-Cibubur section. The incident happened yesterday during a test on the flyover, Monday (10/25/2021).
Budi explained that the collision occurred at 13.00 WIB involving two series of LRT trains. This happened between the Harjamukti station and Ciracas station on the Jabodebek LRT line.
The incident occurred on trainsets number 20 and 29 on the overpass of the Harjamukti-Ciracas station. Budi explained that trainset number 29 was in the middle of being moved to be tested. The chronology is a series of trains that will slowly hit a series of trains that are stabling or parked.
“There are many circuits, so I want to take them one by one, when trainset number 29 was about to join the Harjamukti direction, a collision occurred. So it was indicated that the langsiran (rail shift) was too fast,” he said during a press conference, Monday (10/26/2020). 2021).
However, at the time of the incident, the train had no passengers. There was only one victim with minor injuries, namely the PT Inka driver who was immediately treated at the hospital.
