The Netherlands will begin to read the indictment in the case of the downed Boeing flight MH17 in southeastern Ukraine

In the Netherlands today will begin to read the indictment in the case of the downed Boeing flight MH17 in the south-east of Ukraine.

Before the prosecutor’s office speaks, the court must announce the decision regarding the questioning of one of the witnesses – a Russian serviceman. He, according to the defense, must explain to the court why the plane could not technically be shot down from the Russian Buk missile system.

The trial of the tragedy of Flight MH17 began in the Netherlands in the spring of 2020. 4 people are walking along it – three Russians and one Ukrainian. They are accused of being, according to the investigation, delivering a Buk anti-aircraft gun to Ukraine from Russian territory and shooting down the liner.

The Malaysian Boeing crashed in the summer of 2014 in the Donetsk region of Ukraine in a zone of armed conflict between the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics with the Ukrainian military. Onboard there were 298 people – citizens of 10 states, all of them died. Kiev immediately blamed the militia for the plane crash, but they emphasized that they did not have the means to shoot down the plane at such an altitude.

The Russian authorities express their lack of confidence in the process and insist on the groundlessness of the prosecution’s arguments.
