2022 has been bleak for most of us, but for good living it’s been an unexpected blessing, as Hollywood actress Jessica Chastain showed off this week.
The pandemic has turned us all into homeowners – pubs and clubs are closed; social distancing means you can’t throw big parties or get together in big groups; and working from home means we don’t have a lot of time to relax anyway. But have a drink or two in the comfort of your own home? This is an other story.
A recent report from the Australian National University came to one conclusion you have no doubt come to yourself: Australians are drinking more during the lockdown. Maybe it’s because alcohol is a sanitizer (but don’t go drink hand sanitizer, you bastard). Maybe that’s because the stress of the lockdown prompted us to take the bottle.
Regardless, plenty of people in Australia and around the world (hint: this video of New Yorkers sipping cocktails as protests rage in the background) took to The Bat Kiss to hone their skills in the game. cocktail preparation at home – celebrities included.
Enter: American actress and producer Jessica Chastain, who shared a hilarious video of herself making ‘cocktails’ at home, serving Teremana tequila and lime to her guests on a glorious day California Summer on Friday the 24th – very fitting, considering July 24th was National Tequila Day.
With Australia grappling with winter and facing a second round of blockages, we’re pretty envious of Chastain’s Day. Rounding out fine tequila while relaxing in the pool? It’s not exactly traditional (we’d say drinking tequila anywhere other than a dodgy dive bar defies convention) but damn it – sounds fun.
Teremana is a small batch tequila brand founded by action star Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson that has quickly become a favorite with tequila lovers. The Rock were clearly thrilled to see Chastain share an unofficial endorsement for his new venture, reposting his video with a friendly caption.

We don’t know how much mixology is needed to make Chastain’s “quarantinis”, but we wouldn’t refuse a sip. As we mentioned, she’s also giving fellow actor Stanley Tucci a chance, who sparked controversy earlier this year by sharing his “sacrilegious” recipe for Negroni on social media.
