Gazprom does not speed up gas supplies to Europe

“It is possible that on Monday, from a physical point of view, the gas pipeline will be balancing on the verge of stopping, since a direct request for transportation from east to west is superimposed on a meeting (reverse) request – for supply from west to east,” the agency writes.
Now gas demand in Europe suffers from sky-high prices. The contract for delivery on Monday at the TTF hub in the Netherlands is $ 1583 per thousand cubic meters. In addition, at the end of December, demand in Europe traditionally decreases due to the holidays.
As a reminder, in 2021 Gazprom supplies to the EU at a minimum over six years – about 145 billion cubic meters of gas. The decline in supplies occurred against the backdrop of the highest gas prices in Europe and a significant increase in gas supplies to Turkey and China.
At the same time, on December 15, Gazprom said that fulfilled gas transit obligations through Ukraine.
