You are a finalist Czech Slovak SuperStar 2021. How does it feel for you?
It’s something unreal for me and I wouldn’t believe I could get that far. The competition is really big. To be honest, I went to a competition saying that I would not interest anyone as a singer. So I’m very pleased with the support of the fans, I appreciate it.
You are not only a finalist, but also a favorite. Don’t you ever feel pressured?
Yes, I have already felt the pressure, I did not want to disappoint the people who support me. On the other hand, I also wanted to show those who don’t like me and don’t want to show me how things are. I’m also a perfectionist, when I’m preparing for something, I put one hundred percent into it, and sometimes I lose my vocal cords.
The experience of participating in SuperStar has strengthened many singers from previous years. Do you have the same?
People say that this experience will harden me and it’s true, SuperStar has hardened me and I don’t really understand where the competition has appeared in me. I am a calm type and only here I discovered that I have that predation in me and I would like to be the best. At the beginning, I was very nervous during the live broadcasts, now I’m thinking that everything will naturally turn out as it should.
I noticed that you are very dedicated to your fans on social networks. Do you have any unpleasant comments?
I read the comments, I have already read about myself that I am affected, but I simply cannot sing without emotions. Maybe it’s too much for someone, but I choose great songs that matter to me. I really read the lyrics, and when I sing, the emotions are natural to me and sometimes they pull me down.
You have been spending time with your competitors for some time. Will it even spark between you?
We’re a great bunch all the time, but it’s true that now that the end is coming to an end, the nervousness is obvious. From the beginning, it was fun, which was replaced in the past rounds by the fear of who will drop out, because we all wanted to make it to the final. I would like to be very successful, but I am already at the stage that I say to myself: everything will turn out as it should.
Did you want to become a singer from an early age? After all, you are also studying another field.
I have a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Humanities at Charles University, where I now also study at the Faculty of Social Sciences. My mother has always been very attached to having a quality education, but my whole life still brings me back to singing. Now in SuperStar, I’ve just confirmed that this is the way I want to go. We will see what happens after the competition, I am also aware that the competition sometimes ends, but I hope that happiness will meet me and my journey is just beginning.
How would you handle a possible winnings?
If I won, I would donate the money to my family as well. The win is not small and I would like to repay them for taking care of me by taking care of them now.
If there was a chance, who would you like to sing a duet with?
It’s hard to say, there are a lot of great artists and I often feel and cry like a turtle when listening to their songs. (laughs) If I had to name, I really enjoyed the Czech performers Mandrage Group and the band’s frontman Vít Starý, whose voice I adored and I’m sorry they eventually fell apart. I also like the band Lucia or Mirai.
I loved the greats as he was Waldemar Matuska a Karel Gott, whose songs are a Czech gem, I also like Helena Vondráčková or Ewu Farnou.
