AFF Cup 2020: Sorry Malaysia, Indonesian National Team Won’t Park Buses : Okezone Bola

SINGAPORE – Coach Indonesian National Team, Shin Tae-yong, gave a warning to Malaysia ahead of the meeting of the two teams on the last matchday of Group B AFF Cup 2020. Shin Tae-yong stated that the Indonesian national team would no longer park buses.

As is known, the Indonesian national team chose to defend against the strongest team in Group B, namely Vietnam. The strategy was chosen so that the Indonesian national team could at least steal points.

The goal was achieved because the Indonesian national team was able to hold Vietnam to a 0-0 draw. With this result, the Indonesian national team is now at the top of the Group B standings with a collection of seven points.

Even though the points collection of the Garuda Squad is the same as Vietnam, the advantage on goal difference makes Evan Dimas and his colleagues entitled to the first position. As a result, the Indonesian national team got enough of a draw from Malaysia to seal the semifinal ticket.

If the Indonesian national team needs a draw, Malaysia has a mission to win. This is because the Malayan Tigers have only collected six points from three matches because they lost once, namely 0-3 to Vietnam.

This condition makes some parties think that the Indonesian national team will survive for a draw. However, Shin Tae-yong gave psywar by stating that the Indonesian national team could also play attacking.

“However, Indonesia will take a different approach today,” said Shin Tae-yong, quoted from New Straits Times, Sunday (12/19/2021).

“I know Indonesia’s rivalry against Malaysia. So, we have to be mentally strong ahead of the match,” said the South Korean coach.

“We are defensive against Vietnam, but that doesn’t mean we will park the bus again tomorrow (today),” he said.

For your information, the Indonesia vs Malaysia national team match will take place at the National Stadium, Singapore, Sunday (12/19/2021), at 19.30 WIB. The support of all Indonesian people will accompany the Garuda Squad’s struggle tonight.
