A fire broke out on the fourth floor of a building in Manhattan’s East Village. Inside an apartment two teenagers were trapped. To save their lives, they had no other solution than to undertake a perilous descent by slipping on an outside pipe.
On an NBC New York video, an 18-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy are seen coming out the window. Their home is filled with flames. They managed to grab a pipe tens of meters above the ground.
After returning to dry land, NBC reports that the two teenagers were treated for minor burns and smoke inhalation. They should recover very quickly.
