The Russian Foreign Ministry said that they offer the United States negotiations on security guarantees exclusively on a bilateral basis, and the involvement of other countries would deprive them of their sense. This was stated by TASS Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergei Ryabkov.

“We propose negotiations on a bilateral basis with the United States. If we involve other countries in them, we will simply drown it all in debate and verbiage,” the Russian diplomat said.

At the same time, according to the Deputy Minister, there has never been such a situation as in relations with the United States.

“I hope that the Americans do not underestimate how much everything has changed – and not for the better. And so far, unfortunately, there are no signs that they are ready to abandon their own patterns,” Ryabkov noted. draft agreements on guarantees security and agreements on security measures for the Russian Federation and NATO member states.

In response, the White House said that US will not consult on the issue of security in Europe without allies in the EU, noting that they are discussing proposals with allies.
