With the restart, Wout Weghorst had the direct equalizer on the foot, but the Dutchman failed on the right on the five to Manuel Neuer (8th). That should have been VfL’s last offensive action for a long time, because FC Bayern completely took over the game and came up with more chances: Robert Lewandowski (11th, 29th) and Jamal Musiala (26th) had good opportunities to increase to 2-0.
The record champions made the game until the break, Wolfsburg at least had good moments in the attack thanks to two counterattacks, which Weghorst ended too hectically in the end.

Upamecano and Sane make everything clear
After the break, Bayern picked up on the first half and played purposefully forward. Sane had the first opportunity in the 49th minute, but missed the left post too much.
The record champions then made the preliminary decision within two minutes: First, Müller served Dayot Upamecano with a buttery cross, who only had to hold his head in front of the five-man and scored his first goal in a Bayern dress (2-0, 57th), then Sane made it 3-0 (59th) with a flick from the penalty area. Sane scored his eleventh competitive goal this season – one more at Christmas than in all of last season.
