5 PlayStation games to try online this weekend

This weekend you can play online on your PlayStation 4 or 5 without needing an active PS Plus subscription. Now I think there are a lot of gamers who have that anyway, also because you get interesting games every month. But suppose you have a second account or decided a while ago not to renew your subscription, then this is the weekend to go online again.

But what are the games that you really should try online right now on your PlayStation 4 or 5? These are five games that are really worthwhile in our opinion.

5 PlayStation games to try online this weekend

Call of Duty: Vanguard

To be fair, it is not the most original game to include in this list. Because everyone knows that a new part in the series is ideal for playing in multiplayer. I myself play Call of Duty: Vanguard almost daily on the PlayStation 4 and 5. Preferably on the 5, because it runs just a little better on that. It is also an ideal game to play with friends. I do that with my sons, where they play on the Xbox. With this free weekend, you might be able to boot up an old PS4 in the bedroom and let someone play on it, while you go wild on the PS5. That way you get a kind of LAN experience.

Back 4 Blood

A game that has gotten a little less attention lately, but is still very worthwhile, is Back 4 Blood. It is the game from the makers of Left 4 Dead and is therefore really perfect for playing together. It is the perfect game, especially when you play it with a group. That way you have to work well together and try to stay alive as long as possible. Ideal if you can play it now without needing a PlayStation Plus subscription.

Battlefield 2042

Just like Back 4 Blood, Battlefield 2042 is a game that you really only get for the multiplayer. In that regard, the question is whether you get anything from the game without a PlayStation Plus subscription. But perhaps you can now lend the game to a friend. He or she can now easily discover whether the game is something for him or her. And if he likes it, he can still be picked up. Only then you still get a PS Plus subscription.

FIFA 22

FIFA 22 is also such a game that a lot of people get to play online. Have fun creating your perfect team in FIFA Ultimate Team. But maybe you only got it to play the games together on the couch or to go wild with your career. But this weekend you can finally see if you can come into your own in the online world. I don’t really think that you should dive into Ultimate Team in two days, but a few online matches against strangers or friends is doable.

Far Cry 6 without PlayStation Plus

The last game I want to include in this list is Far Cry 6. A game that you may have picked up to experience the story. But it is also a game that you can play cooperatively. You do need to have completed a few missions in the game for that, but after that you can compete together. It is true that the host is making progress in his game. But the game that joins it gets a certain in-game currency with which he or she can purchase certain things. And of course you have fun together, which is also worth something.

In short, a lot of games that you can now play online without needing an active PlayStation Plus subscription. You can go wild with it until Sunday evening. Want to read more about gaming? Then visit our overview page here. And if you want to score a subscription afterwards, Then you can go here.
