The bird of a photographer from Haute-Saône exhibited in a street in New York

We can say that it is a work within a work. Jean-Charles Ouvrard exhibits a photograph of a stilt in a gigantic photographic painting. Symbol of a new form of art, it will be sold virtually at auction.

Certainly, it is perhaps a postage stamp in this monumental photograph which brings together 514 artists from all over the world, but for Jean-Charles Ouvrard, it is a great satisfaction. “It’s not every day that we see one of his photos in the streets of New York and I’m lucky that it is particularly well highlighted. It’s a recognition that goes to me. help in my work “ recognizes the photographer from Vesoul in Haute-Saône.

For this exhibition in the middle of the street, the photographer has chosen to share a magnificent portrait of a stilt taken in the Languedoc towards the Etang de Leucate.

For his shots, the photographer particularly likes the High Key technique. “During my hides, I choose a very neutral background as a priority. It could be ice, snow, a blue sky or water. I overexpose the photo when taking the image and I always wait for it to happen. ‘a bird passes in my field of vision when I am on my lookout ” adds the photographer.

There is Japanese poetry in each of his shots. “For this grebe, I followed her with my reflex while she was making bubbles underwater. I was lucky enough to be able to shoot her with her fish when she resurfaced.” he said.

Exhibiting in a New York street is a chance to make my work known in art galleries and for the general public.

Jean-Charles Ouvrard has been a photographer and author since 2010. But it was at the age of 13 that he took these first pictures with a Polaroid. Even if he likes very refined naturalistic photography, he also likes to work in the studio, to capture lightning during thunderstorms or to immortalize places abandoned but which have kept their soul.

The ExpoMetro process is very simple. It’s up to the art of going out to meet the public and not the other way around. The photographic work must be universal and become part of the daily landscape for a few days. It is installed in place of a billboard. The collective has already exhibited in several European cities such as London, Berlin or Monaco. In December 2018, paintings were exhibited at the Chatelet station of the Paris metro.
