Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Bank Indonesia (BI) will implement the system BI Fast starting December 21. With BI Fast, fees interbank transfer will decrease from IDR 6,500 to IDR 2,500 per transaction from bank to customer.
Meanwhile, the transaction fee from BI to the bank is Rp. 19 per transaction. “On December 21, 2021, BI will launch BI Fast as a retail payment infrastructure that is real time and operates non-stop, 24/7,” said BI Governor Perry Warjiyo at a virtual press conference, Thursday (16/12).
For information, BI Fast will be implemented by 22 banks this year. Meanwhile, next year, the application will increase in 22 other banks.
Perry hopes that the various policies in the payment system can help the public to get cheaper transaction fees, both through clearing and inter-bank transfers.
On the same occasion, Perry added that his party would also extend the national clearing system service tariff (SKNBI) to a maximum of IDR 2,900 per transaction from banks to customers from the original ending on December 31, 2021 to June 30, 2022.
“A maximum of IDR 2,900 from banks to customers from the original ending December 31, 2021 to June 30, 2022,” he said.
Likewise, the SKNBI rate of Rp. 1 per transaction from BI to banks will be extended until the middle of next year. Perry said this policy was implemented to support the national economic recovery.
