In one where new versions of older game titles are around every corner, Ubisoft comes and confirms a completely new edition of the classic Splinter Cell.
In 2002 makes a comeback in the form of the first installation in the game series Splinter Cell. The first game in the series since Spinter Cell: Blacklist which was launched in 2013. This new version is built from the ground up and thus does not become a remaster as we have seen x number of recent years.
Something those who remember the old game title may take a sigh of relief that Ubisoft also confirmed that the game will not have an open game world. Instead, it will be linear courses but with modern graphics thanks to the game engine Snowdrop.
One of the game’s developers is said to have said that the new version is in the very earliest stages of development. Which means the game is far from over. Thus, Ubisoft has not given us any launch date or launch window. Not entirely surprising as Ubisoft’s marketing includes the text “now hiring” which means that it still employs people who will work on the project.
