Education – Schwerin – Last day of school in attendance this year – Education

Schwerin (dpa / mv) – The approximately 155,000 students in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are going to school for the last time this year. The Christmas holidays don’t start until next Wednesday. The children and young people should study at home on Monday and Tuesday. The teachers gave them homework for this. For children in grades one to six who cannot be looked after at home, there is emergency care in the school, as announced by the Ministry of Education in Schwerin.

Education Minister Simone Oldenburg (Linke) said that the two days without mandatory attendance before the holidays should relieve the teachers and the health authorities. In the current situation, everything must be done to keep the number of infections low in schools and thus also to ensure that attendance at the school after the Christmas holidays.

In the new year there should then be three corona tests in schools per week instead of the previous two. Then there will be regular physical education again, which was last suspended in order to reduce the risk of infection.
