User Report Whatsapp Bug on iPhone, Application Crash When Opened

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Several iPhone users in various countries have complained about the presence of bug (error) in WhatsApp which results in the application being inaccessible or crash. Incident crash it reportedly happened for several hours.

A number of iPhone users explained that the application suddenly crashed after tapping the WhatsApp icon. As a result, users cannot use the messaging service such as checking or sending messages.

As quoted 9to5Mac as of Thursday (17/12), this bug is probably due to a problem with the Meta server, not a bug in the iOS app. This is indicated because the WhatsApp beta version via TestFlight also crashes and there are also problems with some WhatsApp Business users.

On the other hand, some users attributed today’s bug to the iOS 15.2 update, the app is also having issues with previous versions of Apple’s mobile operating system.

According to reports NDTV, WhatsApp Engineering Head Nitin Gupta, has become aware of this issue. He advised affected users to use the app in airplane mode to mitigate the problem.

This issue is reported to have been resolved a few hours after it went viral on the internet. However, so far Whatsapp has not confirmed whether the problem is resolved.
