“There was talk about senseless pensions, about special pensions” / Military pensions under 2,500 lei will increase by 10%

The Minister of Defense, Vasile Dîncu, announced on Thursday, in the Talk News show from Profit TV, that the military pensions under 2,500 lei will increase by 10%, from 2022, the provision will be included in the state budget for next year, News announces. ro.

Vasile Dîncu was asked if the military pensions of up to 2,500 lei will increase by 10 percent.

“Yes, it is something that we negotiated with the Minister of Finance, together with the Minister of Interior, Lucian Bode, this is a change that will appear in the budget. It has not appeared yet, we will discuss it tomorrow, but it is one of our proposals and it will certainly pass “, said the Minister of Defense.

He said that in this budget, as a general thing, the Government has tried to make some contributions such as one off, once. “We have increased family allowances and allowances. But it is not a very spectacular budget, very rich, because we set ourselves an important thing, that 7% for investments “, said Dîncu.

Regarding the budgetary impact of this increase in military pensions, Dîncu said that it is bearable, even if it is a considerable amount.

“It is an amount that we can afford, even if it is large because I did not expect (..) in terms of the status of the military, pensions, military salaries, because it was talked about nonsensical pensions, for example , about special pensions, which is not the case, because in the Army it is about service pensions “, said Dîncu, pointing out that large disproportions were created, through legislative changes, so that some left the same position and the same degree, with high pensions, around the 90s, and now retirees have pensions twice or even three times higher.

“We have a lot of pensioners under 2,500 lei, which I tell you I did not expect,” said Dîncu.
