Indonesia releases exports alcoholic beverages (minol) PT Langgeng Kreasi Jayaprima (LKJ) or Diageo Indonesia to Thailand. Export minol with the Captain Morgan brand, facilitated by the Directorate General of Agro Industry, Ministry of Industry.
“We express our highest appreciation to the entire board of directors of LKJ who have expanded the market to Thailand through the export of alcoholic beverage products,” said Director General of Agro Industry Putu Juli Ardika as reported by the press. Between, in Tabanan, Bali, Thursday (16/12).
Putu hopes that in addition to substituting imported alcoholic beverages for tourists, in the future Indonesia can become a hub or center for alcoholic beverage exports in the Southeast Asian region.
LKJ is a multinational company that produces premium minol, such as Smirnoff and Gibley’s vodka, Captain Morgan rum, Gordon and Gibley’s gin, which are intended for consumption by foreign tourists.
So far, the export destinations of alcoholic beverages have landed in the Philippines, Timor Leste, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and other countries with an export value of US$7.3 million in 2020.
“We hope that what LKJ does can create a multiplier effect in other sectors, encourage export growth in Indonesia, and increase the country’s foreign exchange earnings which ultimately contributes to economic growth,” he explained.
Not only that, Putu continues the expansion carried out by LKJ, which is expected to open up the widest possible employment opportunities for the local community.
In the future, Putu hopes that LKJ can continue to diversify alcoholic beverage products and seek breakthroughs to open market access for new export destination countries. After all, the mining industry is controlled and supervised.
Since the issuance of Presidential Regulation Number 54 of 1993 to Presidential Regulation Number 49 of 2021 concerning the Investment Business Sector, the alcoholic beverage industry is closed to new investment.
According to Putu, the guidance carried out for the industry is controlling and supervising both the aspects of licensing, production, quality and circulation.
Control and supervision of the alcoholic beverage industry is also regulated in Presidential Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 74 of 2013 concerning Control and Supervision of Alcoholic Beverages.
Then, Regulation of the Minister of Industry Number 17 of 2019 concerning Industrial Control and Supervision and Quality of Alcoholic Beverages.
“The Ministry of Industry plays a role in controlling and supervising production and quality,” he said.
“In an effort to ensure that alcoholic beverage products circulating in the community are industrial alcoholic beverage products that are of high quality and safe for consumption by the public,” said Putu.
