Head of Handling Task Force Covid-19 Suharyanto said the enforcement lockdown at the Covid-19 Emergency Hospital Athlete’s House (RSDC) Kemayoran, Jakarta carried out for seven days.
Lockdown implemented after the cleaning staff of Wisma Atlet (RSDC) Kemayoran became the first patient of the variant omicron in Indonesia.
“That’s right, lockdown for the next seven days after Omicron’s findings,” said Suharyanto when contacted by CNNIndonesia.com, Thursday (16/12).
He said lockdown At the Wisma Atlet RSDC, it is carried out in all operating towers for self-isolated patients.
Suharyanto also said that this lockdown was only applied at the Wisma Atlet Kemayoran Hospital, while Wisma Atlet Pademangan was still accepting Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) who came from abroad to undergo isolation.
“Only in Kemayoran, [Wisma Atlet] Pademangan is for PMI,” he said.
Previously, the Ministry of Health detected the Omicron variant of Covid-19 in one janitor at the Kemayoran Athlete’s Wisma RSDC. The results of the genome sequencing test on Wednesday (15/12) showed that the officer was positive for the Omicron variant of Covid-19.
Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that the officer had no track record of traveling abroad. He also did not explain in detail where the officer might have been infected.
The officer is currently still in self-isolation at the Wisma Atlet Kemayoran Hospital despite being negative for Covid-19 from the results of the second test.
Recently, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria claimed that the first patient of the Omicron variant was not domiciled in the capital city.
“The information is not a resident of Jakarta. The information we have received is not a resident of Jakarta,” said Riza at the Jakarta City Hall, Thursday (16/12) night.
“We received information through the Ministry of Health that Omicron had entered Jakarta through foreigners and there were our people who were now at the Athlete’s House,” he added.
