CHINA – Wuling finally officially presents the cheapest electric car in the world Hongguang MINI EV with a retractable roof. Jalopnik reported that the Chinese-made electric car had been registered with the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as a condition for selling the car.
The registration at the same time breaks the speculation that previously circulated where the Wuling Hongguang MINI EV whose roof can be opened will never be sold to the public. It is known that Wuling had indeed presented the Wuling Hongguang MINI EV Cabriolet at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show last April.
At that time the Wulung Hongguang MINI EV Cabriolet appeared with an attractive design. Some futuristic elements are also seen in the car such as LED headlights that are like video games, the side car body is equipped with LED light stripes and the interior is full of the latest technology.

It’s just that at that time many people thought the car was just a design example. It is suspected that Wuling will not make the open roof concept car into a mass production car.
It’s just that the assumption is wrong because Wuling intends to sell the car early next year. But don’t expect the car that Wuling has registered to be exactly the same as the one shown at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show.
Some of the futuristic elements mentioned earlier were immediately replaced by Wuling. The main lights are now turned into LED lights with a conventional design. Likewise, the LED strip lights on the side body have completely disappeared.
