Leonardo DiCaprio did not want to see Meryl Streep naked in the satire on global warming “Don’t look up”, which brings them back to the screen, Fox News reported.
This was revealed by the film’s director Adam McKay, according to whom the 47-year-old actor considers his 72-year-old colleague to be too big an icon to appear naked in front of the camera in a comedy.
In one of the scenes in the film, the heroine is photographed naked in the back. Although the Oscar winner used a backup, for Leonardo the idea was still embarrassing.
“She is fearless. And yes, this is a backup. But guess who had a problem with that? Leo DiCaprio. He considered Meryl a person with a special place in the history of cinema and felt uncomfortable seeing her in such a scene. He even asked me if it really needed to be shown“says Adam McKay.
The two Hollywood celebrities have known each other for decades, meeting on the set of the 1996 drama “Marvin’s Room,” in which Streep plays DiCaprio’s mother.
The Titanic star recently said that the other actors also felt “nervous” to work with the great Hollywood legend, BTA writes. The cast also includes Jennifer Lawrence, Jonah Hill, Cate Blanchett, Tyler Perry, Ron Pearlman, Timothy Shalame.
