A BOLA – Salernitana at risk of being excluded from Serie A (Italy)

The Italian press, in the case of Tuttosport, said this Thursday that Salernitana runs the risk of being excluded from Serie A as of January 1, if Claudio Lotito, the current owner of the club, cannot find a buyer.

If that doesn’t happen, Salernitana will be automatically relegated to the amateur championships and the main division will have one less team, that is, 19, for the second half of the season.

At issue is the fact that Lotito is also the owner of Lazio, which goes against regulations, which prohibit a person from owning two clubs at the same level.

Now, according to Football Italia, “if Salernitana is effectively excluded, the points of the games already played by the team will be deleted from the table, which will have an impact on some teams that fight for permanence.”

Salernitana, where French veteran Franck Ribéry (38 years old) plays, is in last place in the championship, with just eight points in 17 matches.
