The Latvian U18 hockey team suffered its third loss at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Kajaani on Wednesday, conceding Olympic athletes from Russia.

Latvia acknowledged the superiority of Olympic athletes from Russia (OSR) with 0: 3 (0: 0, 0: 3, 0: 0).

Although the first period ended without a goal, the Russians had already scored 13 times for the goalkeeper guarded by Diva Rolov, while the opponent’s goalkeeper was disturbed only twice.

The OSR team took the lead in the 28th minute after Kirill Dolzhenkov’s shot – 1: 0.

In the middle of the period, the opponents of the Latvian national team conquered the goal guarded by Rolov twice more in 84 seconds – 3: 0 in favor of the OSR unit.

Opponents threw 37 times at Rolov’s goal, and eight at the Russian goal.

In Tuesday’s late game, Belarus beat Olympic athletes from Russia 2: 1 (0: 0, 1: 0, 0: 1, 1: 0).

The OSR team is leading the tournament table with seven points in three games. The Czech Republic is followed by three points in two battles and Finland in one. Belarus have two points in one match, but Latvia has no points after three losses.
