Cinquetti’s 1964 victory was Italy’s first ever in the Eurovision Song Contest. The country would later win it twice more: in 1990 with Toto Cutugno and “Insieme: 1992” and this year with Måneskin and “Zitti e buoni”.
At 16, Cinquetti was also the youngest ever winner, a title she retained until Sandra Kim participated with “J’aime la vie” for our country in 1986. In 1974, Cinquetti again took part in the Eurovision Song Contest with “Si “, then good for a second place. In 1991 she hosted the song contest when it took place in Italy.
