Renaud Witmeur leaves Nethys and Sogepa for the Brussels University Hospital – Businesses

Renaud Witmeur will become Director General of the Brussels University Hospital (HUB), a new structure that brings together the Erasme Hospital, the Jules Bordet Institute and the Queen Fabiola Children’s University Hospital (Huderf). This is what the board of directors of the HUB confirms on Wednesday. Renaud Witmeur will therefore leave Sogepa and Nethys.

Renaud Witmeur has been running Sogepa, the Walloon public tool, for almost nine years. He had also taken the head of Nethys in October 2019, after the ousting of Stéphane Moreau. The man is no stranger to the health sector, since he was Rudy Demotte’s chief of staff when the latter was Federal Minister of Health, recalls Le Soir. He chaired the board of directors of CHU Brugman for several years and since 2017, he has chaired the IRIS hospital network. At the HUB, he will be responsible for more than 6,000 workers.

The date of Renaud Witmeur’s transfer is not yet known.
