Train grabs stationary vehicle on level crossing in Koolskamp, ​​injured in similar collision in Opwijk

The collision in Koolskamp took place around 7.30 pm this evening. A car was stationary on the tracks near the level crossing on Burgerleenstraat. A train coming from the direction of De Panne was unable to stop in time. He grabbed the vehicle and dragged it hundreds of meters along the track. It partly disappeared under the locomotive.

The driver of the car was able to get out just in time. She was unharmed. There were about 40 passengers on the train. They were removed from their wagons by the fire brigade. A woman had back pain and was taken to hospital for a check-up. The other travelers could take a bus to the station of Lichtervelde. The accident interrupted train traffic between Deinze and Lichtervelde.
