The Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) consortium took over the majority over the club in early October, but competition immediately pushed for a temporary ban on new agreements to eliminate possible financial circumvention of The Magpies.
On Tuesday, however, Premier League clubs adopted new rules under which new business agreements with sponsors must be approved by the competition management. After the new, the Premier League will assess whether the agreements on partners on the jerseys or when naming the stadium are not artificially “inflated” and are concluded in a reasonable value.
Newcastle United’s competitors feared that the entry of the new owner would lead to the signing of contracts with friendly companies, which would allow compliance with financial fair play, while an uncontrollable amount of funds would flow into the club. After the new, the individual clubs from the highest competition cannot lose more than £ 105 million during the three-year “sliding” period, which is around € 123 million.
PL clubs must also declare any payments to players, coaches and other officials coming from affiliated companies in order to assess whether this is legitimate work and not artificial pay cuts.
The Slovak national team goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka is also a part of Newcastle United, the club is moving to the Premier League tables today and is struggling to stay in the highest domestic competition. He is in the penultimate 19th place in the evaluation of the competition, when he scored only 10 points out of 16 duels, as well as the last Norwich. These rescue teams are currently losing three points.
The long-delayed change of ownership at the English football club Newcastle United has long been criticized by international human rights organizations, including Amnesty International. The new owners bought the club for £ 305 million (approximately € 360 million) and, as expected, fired coach Steve Bruce, who was replaced by Eddie Howe. Newcastle United is a four-time England champion from 1905, 1907, 1909 and 1927.
