Mars Has a Powerful Volcano, Its Height is About 6.8 Km

PLANET Mars have some of the largest features or landforms, some of which are even the largest in the solar system. For example volcano The largest is called Alba Mons which has a height of about 6.8 kilometers (KM).

There’s still Valles Marineris, the longest and deepest canyon, then there’s Hellas Planitia, a crater the size of Western Europe as a result of the impact. There is also the Olympus Mons Volcano which is estimated to be three times the height of the Alba Mons Volcano.

The Alba Mons volcano is considered the largest volcano on Mars in terms of surface area. Even the volcano which is also referred to as Alba Patera, is even bigger than Olympus Mons. (Read also; This Mysterious Volcano Eruption Could Erupt, Found Flowing Lava )

The sighting of the Alba Mons volcano was captured by the HiRISE camera from the Reconnaissance Orbiter circling the planet Mars. The photo was taken in the spring of last year from an altitude of 295 km (183 miles).

According to NASA, the structure of the Alba Mons volcano is not the same as the volcano on Earth. This makes it a perfect subject to study and requires lengthy observation. (Read also; Natural Signs when a Volcano Will Erupt )

“What is shown in this main image is not the entire volcano. Some mountains look like blood vessels under a microscope. It looks like a channel that appears to have started from the edge of the lava flow,” according to scientists from NASA and the University of Arizona.
