The governing coalition PSD-PNL-UDMR decided on Monday evening that the 1,200 lei aid promised a month ago by PSD to the elderly with pensions under 1,600 lei will not be 1,200 lei for all beneficiaries, but will have different amounts, according to sources G4Media.
The Coalition decided that the pension + aid should not exceed 2200 lei, and the aid will be granted differently to those with a pension between 1000 and 1600 lei. Thus, those with a pension of 1,000 lei will receive 1200 lei aid, and the aid will decrease as the pension is higher, ie the one with 1600 lei pension will receive 600 lei aid.
Thus, all pensioners under 1,600 lei will receive a bonus so that they will have a total income of 2,200 lei in January. The pensioner who has 1,000 lei will receive a grant of 1,200 lei, and the one who has a pension of 1,600 lei will receive a grant of 600 lei.
The Minister of Labor, Marius Budai, refused to confirm this decision, although he was repeatedly asked by reporters at the end of the coalition meeting. He summed up that there will be no person in January who will receive an income of less than 2,200 lei in January, consisting of a pension and help.
See below how Minister Marius Budai avoided the concrete answer to the repeated questions of the journalists:
The Minister also said that the impact of the measure will be 2.56 billion lei, and about 2.5 million retirees will benefit from this aid given in a single month, in January.
