Johnny de Mol has received a considerable blow from the viewing figure gun Even Tot Hier, but the presenter was not asked about that at Humberto Tan’s talk show table yesterday.
The first half of the season is over for the Johnny de Mol talk show HLF8. The viewing figures are very disappointing and of course everyone knows why the presenter has nothing to fear: his father John is the big boss and he ultimately makes the big decisions.
Joke about Johnny
That is exactly what the men of Even Tot Hier made a joke about on Saturday evening in front of more than two million viewers. The program discussed, among other things, the allowance affair. “It quickly becomes such a mess that Youth Care comes to have a look and says: ‘Your child cannot continue to live here’”, says Niels van der Laan.
Co-host Jeroen Woe: “Yes, and Youth Care then says: ‘Yes, this is not a suitable place for your child.’ And that’s terrible, you don’t want to hear that of course.”
Niels then, with a photo of Johnny in the HLF8 talk show decor in the background: “Okay, of course, you hope someone will say it to John de Mol, huh? “This here is not a suitable place for your child.” But you don’t wish it on anyone else…”
Weak interview
Such a big sneer for such a huge audience: Humberto should have asked about that yesterday at Johnny, who was sitting at his talk show table. The presenter is not particularly keen on TV appearances and that has to do with the accusations of ex-girlfriend Shima Kaes against him. There he has in March only at Op1 what about said.
The interview with Humberto was pretty weak. The host asked zero critical questions. Not about Shima’s accusations against him and not about the fact that his talk show is doing so badly. It was a typical we-know-us conversation, exactly which fills the viewer’s stomach.
Ghostredacteur
It was a matter of bits and pieces, for example about the fact that father John daily interferes with the content of HLF8. “He now texts me twice a day: ‘Have you read this yet? Have you turned this off yet?’ He’s kind of a ghost editor, I call him. He is just reading some other newspapers and will certainly come up with things that we are going after.”
A beautiful guest that Johnny recently had at the table was Fidan Ekiz, who first told about her resignation from De Vooravond. “That’s nice that we had her, yes.”
second season
The big question is: can Johnny continue with a second season of HLF8 after the summer? He doesn’t know yet. “We can continue until May, when we will have finished for one season. It will have to turn out. My feeling is that we’re comfortable in it and that we’re starting to get a bit of steam, but nothing is as changeable as a talk show.”
It was not about the bad viewing figures for a moment. After all, Humberto knows all too well what it’s like to be asked about it. “I am grateful for where we are now and hopefully we will have the time to grow very much,” said Johnny. Well, this kind of bond talk from TV makers really doesn’t require a talk show appearance.
