Elden Ring is this year’s most anticipated game – well duh!

Tonight, champagne and pommac were corked to vote for this year’s most popular games, players, organizations and more. This year The Game Awards offered lots of spectacle, more than what is contained in this article. It has taken me all my free time to try to get a grip on what happened while I was sleeping. But, honestly, when I checked my feeds this morning, I was really just looking for a title: Elden Ring. After all, From Softare’s upcoming role-playing game is something I – and the collective gaming world – patiently hungry for since E3 2019.

Elden Ring won the award Most Anticipated Game 2021. What a surprise! Did not think anyone.

Although Elden Ring probably won by a margin, the game still had worthy opponents. Titans like God of War Ragnarök and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 was among the nominated titles. Not to mention Stafield and Horizon Forbidden West. Men Elden Ring whipped them all!

You can read and see all about this year’s The Game Awards on the official website.

Elden Ring trailer

In this new trailer we get some background information that tells a little more about the mythology George R. R, Martin dictated to the developer From Software. It says that long ago the obituary was stolen, probably a divine command that gave the gods their immortality. Because after the rune was stolen, the gods began to die. The first was Godwyn the Golden. After this, the kingdoms of the gods fell into chaos and war broke out between them whereupon the Fire Ring split.

Who stole the obituary and why? Who can benefit from the gods becoming mortal and losing their composure?

This and more we get to sniff in when Elden Ring will be released on February 25, 2022 for Playstation 5 and 4, Xbox Series X, S and Xbox One, as well as for PC.
