According to Truss, countries need to give up Russian gas and money in order to continue to maintain their independence.
As the minister noted, the short-term decisions of some countries regarding “cheap energy and finance” cost them “the long-term price for freedom and democracy.”
“We cannot repeat this mistake,” the minister said.
Truss also added that Britain will work with its partners to ensure that all free democracies have found an alternative to Russian gas.
At the same time, the minister noted that the decision on a full-scale war against Ukraine would be a strategic mistake for Russia and would lead to dire consequences.
