SERAMBINEWS.COM – Relationship between Cambodia with the United States is heating up.
Starting from the military embargo of Uncle Sam’s country against Cambodia triggered a reaction from one of the countries in Asean.

The warming of relations between the two countries is suspected to be related to China’s activities in the South China Sea.
Prime Minister Cambodia Hun Sen ordered the military to destroy any US-made weaponry or keep it in storage, after Washington imposed an arms embargo.
The US on Wednesday (8/12/2021) imposed an embargo on weapons Cambodia, citing concerns about human rights and corruption in the Southeast Asian country and China’s activities there.
The actions that the US State Department and Commerce Department took were aimed at restricting access to “defense articles and services” by military intelligence services Cambodia.
“I order all army units to immediately review the weapons and military goods that Cambodia currently has,” Hun Sen said in a Facebook post on Friday (12/10/2021), as quoted by Channel News Asia.

“(We) must withdraw all US military weapons and goods if any, put them in storage or destroy them as appropriate,” he said.
