For the second time this week, no migrants have been forced to return to Belarus on the Lithuanian border

Lithuanian border guards have not forced any migrants to return to Belarus in connection with an illegal attempt to enter Lithuania last day, the Lithuanian State Border Guard Service said on Saturday.

This is the second time this week and since August 3, no migrants have been detected at the border, who have to force Lithuanian border guards to return to Belarus. Tuesday was the first time like this.

On October 7, border guards forced one migrant to return to Belarus, but on August 21 and 24, there were two.

Four migrants were allowed to cross the border on humanitarian grounds on Friday. The Lithuanian State Border Guard Service stated that the case was not related to illegal migration from Asian and African countries facilitated by the Belarussian regime.

Since August 3, when, according to the order of the Minister of the Interior Agnes Bilotaite, the border guards started to force migrants to return, it has been prohibited to cross the border in unauthorized places more than 7900 times. Since the beginning of the year, more than 4,200 illegal migrants have been detained in Lithuania.

Lithuanian officials point out that the Belarussian regime is deliberately facilitating the flow of migrants across the border, as Lithuania supports the democratic opposition in Belarus.
