Forspoken, previously known as ‘Project Athia’, recently resurfaced at The Game Awards with a new trailer and meanwhile we also got a release date. This also means that the pre-orders for the game are live, so you can already get your wallet out.
However, you will have to dig deep into your wallet, because the price tag is on the high side. As we can deduce from the PlayStation Store page, the standard edition will cost $79.99 and the digital deluxe edition will cost $104.99. €79.99 is no longer so strange for PlayStation games, but it is striking that the PC version of the game also carries the same price tag: the steam page indicates an identical amount.
This is strange, especially considering PC games are cheaper in general, prompting fierce reactions to the Steam forum of the game. So Square Enix seems to have raised their prices, because also Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on PC would get a higher price than usual, but through the Epic Games Store.
Forspoken will be released on May 24, 2022.
