Willem-Alexander spoke at the location where a corona jab can be obtained without an appointment with people who were standing in line or waiting about why they had not done so before. “I don’t feel like poking,” a man said honestly.
In the previous conversation with employees of the GGD, it also emerged that there was still a lot of ignorance about the vaccination among various population groups and in various districts. “How can people not know that?” asked the king with some disbelief. Hesitation, false information and fear were also discussed. “They hadn’t got around to it”, was a frequently heard reason for only now getting a vaccination. “In this way, we still have 2000 jabs a week, the majority in The Hague and often a first jab,” says director Anneke de Boer.
