Tragedy on set: Boldwin publishes a team letter defending working conditions

Alex Boldvin has published a long letter of defense about what happened during the shooting of the film “Rust”, which was signed by 25 members of the team. They consider the public account of the tragedy in the workplace to be inadequate and want to explain what happened more precisely. The letter was published the day before the special issue of the tragedy broadcast during the filming of ABC News.

The letter was written on behalf of the entire Rust filming team and, according to the signatories, was not sanctioned or influenced in any way by the film’s producers. Letter published by Alex Boldvin »Instagram“account.

The filming team tried to refute allegations that chaotic and unsafe conditions in the shooting area contributed to Halina Hatchin’s death.

As is known, the actor Alex Boldvin shot two colleagues with a loaded weapon during the filming; 42-year-old cinematographer Halina Hatchins Boldwin’s cock turned out to be fatal, and she died at the hospital from a chest injury. The film’s director Joel Souza was injured in the shoulder and survived. Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances, as well as reported that a “lead charge” was removed from the victim’s shoulder, so a real bullet that should not be in the weapons of filming. There have also been reports that attitudes towards security have generally been quite frivolous, even “somewhat complacent”.

The team members claim in the letter that the account of unsafe conditions during filming is false. “The claim that the filming of Rust was a chaotic and dangerous workplace is false and distracts from what is most important: the memory of Halina Hatchin and the need to find modern alternatives to obsolete firearms and security measures for the industry,” the letter said.

The letter was sent to the New Mexico Film Bureau and the International Theater Stage Alliance.

“Unfortunately, it is common in the film industry to work on non-professional productions to gain experience,” they wrote. “Many of us have worked on this type of production, but Rust was not one of them. “Rust was a professional.”

The group claims that work ethic has been high. Laughter and optimism were widespread among the actors and the entire team.

Boldwin gave his first interview to ABC News last week, in which he denied having heard of any security concerns before the fatal shooting. Televisions ABC News has produced a longer review of the tragedy, which was broadcast on 10 December.
