British experts have made completely new predictions about COVID-19 and how long the pandemic will last.
The news was announced by employees of the SCIentific Advisory Group for Emergencies, SAGE. They are convinced that the infection will not stop spreading until 2026, writes Welcome to GOV.UK.
At the same time, experts emphasize that if the vaccination rate is increased, the disease will be able to be controlled much faster. An example of this is the stabilization of the epidemiological situation in the UK, after a large part of the population has been vaccinated.
Scientists are also concerned about the new strain of the coronavirus “Omicron”. They suggest that the emergence of the virus may cause new waves of spread in some countries. Omicron is thought to be more contagious than other types of viruses and can therefore pose a serious threat to humanity.
