Sventek, Pícha, Meixner and Vůjtek will be inducted into the Czech Hockey Hall of Fame

Former excellent forward Pícha combined his playing career with České Budějovice, in whose jersey in 1951 he became the champion of Czechoslovakia and the best scorer of the league. Two years earlier, he became European and world champion in Stockholm. He played 19 matches for the national team and scored five goals.

Former defender Sventek spent a substantial part of his career in Pilsen. He played 52 matches for the national team and scored five goals. In 1961 he helped win silver medals at the World Championships and the title of European Champions, he was a member of the team that won bronze at the 1964 Olympic Games and the 1957 and 1963 World Championships. He also played two matches for Pilsen in the top football league.

Eighty-one-year-old Meixner belonged to the golden generation of Brno, which won five championship titles between 1962 and 1966. He played 33 matches for the national team and scored three goals. He later worked as a sports journalist.

The 70-year-old Vůjtek is a former striker who became famous as a coach. Vítkovice, Zlín or Třinec led the highest competition. In Russia, then Yaroslavl, Dynamo Moscow and Kazan. He also coached the Czech and Slovak national teams, with which he won silver at the 2012 World Cup. With Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, he won the Superliga, the predecessor of the KHL, in 2002 and 2003.

The Czech Hockey Hall of Fame was founded in 2008, with a new quartet with 142 members.
