In Ile-de-France, in 2017, Emmanuel Macron won in the first round organized on April 23. In the second round, it was Emmanuel Macron who won in this region. During the second round of the 2017 presidential election, abstention was 25.3%, against 25.4% for the whole of France. Going back in time, it was Jacques Chirac who won the first round of the presidential election in 2002, and the second. In 2007, Nicolas Sarkozy took the lead in the first round and the second in the region. Five years later, in 2012, the first round was won by François Hollande as well as the second in Ile-de-France.
