Beware of DHF in the Pandemic Period, Lamongan Health Office: Keep Your Body Immune

TIMESINDONESIA, LAMONGANDengue hemorrhagic fever (DBD) become a routine disease that occurs every year. Especially now in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. So this DHF disease certainly can not be underestimated.

The disease caused by the dengue virus from the bite of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito has the same characteristics as Covid-19, namely attacking the body’s immunity. So this disease must remain vigilant.

Although dengue fever sufferers are predominantly children, it does not mean that adults and the elderly (elderly) cannot be infected with the dengue virus which is transmitted through mosquito bites.

This was conveyed by the Head of Disease Prevention and Control at the Lamongan District Health Office (Dinkes Lamongan) dr. Indra Tsuni.

“Although there are some differences with Covid-19. But DHF and Covid-19 are both easy to infect. So I ask the public to maintain their immunity (immunity),” said dr. Indra, Thursday (9/12/2021).

Indra said that in 2020, there were 180 cases of the people of Lamongan Regency suffering from dengue fever. Until December 2021, according to him, cases of dengue fever were still below the previous year.

“However, there was a significant spike in cases in November 2021, reaching 47 cases. This could be due to the intensity of the rain and accompanied by the behavior of residents who ignore 3 M (draining, burying used goods and closing),” he said.

It is known that the government is currently still focusing on handling Covid-19, vaccination and economic recovery caused by the virus which has become a global pandemic.

Indra again emphasized, DHF cannot be taken lightly, especially at this time during the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, coupled with an increase in the intensity of rainfall from January to April, he hopes, the public will really not ignore 3 M.

“Therefore, the East Java Governor, the Regent and the Regional Secretary have instructed us to immediately go down to the villages to socialize the implementation of 3M and PSN (mosquito nest eradication),” he said.

Further, said dr. Indra, the Lamongan Health Office through the nearest puskesmas also formed and provided training for JUMANTIK cadres (lattice monitors) consisting of women from various occupations.

“With this JUMANTIK cadre, we hope that in every resident’s house there will be larva monitors. Then fogging, although not the best way to eradicate DBD. And keep your immune system by eating nutritious food, vitamins, fruits and adequate rest,” said dr. Indra Head of the Head of Disease Prevention and Control at the Lamongan Health Office.
