Competition Tottenham Hotspur vs Rennes in the UEFA Conference League has been postponed. This is after the Tottenham squad was hit by a storm COVID-19.
Antonio Conte recently revealed that there are 13 positive cases of COVID-19 in Tottenham. Eight first-team players have tested positive for coronavirus and the other five cases are staff.
Tottenham were supposed to host Rennes at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the last match of Group G UEFA Conference League, Friday (10/12/2021) early morning WIB. UEFA initially stated that matches would go ahead as scheduled.
However, the Tottenham vs Rennes match is now confirmed to not be held at the scheduled time. Information about the continuation of this match will be informed later.
“We can confirm that our Group G match in the UEFA Conference League against Rennes will not take place tomorrow (Thursday, 9 December at 8pm UK time) following several positive cases of COVID-19 at the club,” read a statement on Tottenham’s website.
Tottenham have also been advised by local health authorities to close training centers for the health and safety of players and staff.
“Talking about football today is impossible. The situation makes me very upset,” Conte said earlier.
“The situation is serious. There is a major contagion.”
The match between Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton in the Premier League on Sunday (12/12/2021) is also believed to be subject to review.
