The book reveals various personal and amusing episodes from the shared adventures and memories of Imants Skrastiņš and the authors of the letters, as well as provides an insight into the behind-the-scenes. In the messages dedicated to the actor, director and singer Imants Skrastiņš, his contemporaries, sharing his memories, seem to revive the unique timbre of his voice, which was able to touch the most delicate strings of the souls of listeners and spectators. Imants Skrastins (1941‒2019) – Latvian actor, singer and Radio Theater director, radio voice. In his life he has participated in many Radio Theater recordings as both an actor and a director. On the theater stage, he has brightly penetrated the audience’s memories with the play “Let’s Play, Play!”, Which is included in the canon of Latvian culture. In the 80’s, he also gained popularity as a performer of Raimonds Pauls’ songs – the song “Kamolā tinēja” became the winner of the 1980 “Microphone Survey”. For many years, his voice could also be heard on Latvijas Radio’s “Home Blessing” program.

Imants Skrastiņš has played roles in the films “Rita” (1957), “Stone and Crushed Stone” (1966), “Cīrļi Releases First” (1967), “Buras” (1977), “Reflection in Water” (1977), “Spring Road Sign” ( 1978), “Family Album” (1978), “Night Without Birds” (1979) and “Sugar House” (1997). He has also participated in various television series and concert performances. He served on the National Radio and Television Council for two terms.

In 1989, Skrastiņš received the title of People’s Performer of the Latvian SSR, in 2001 – the Alexander Chuck Award, but in 2003 he became a Knight of the Order of the Three Stars.

In the first half of next year, the book “My Day Crickets” will be published, which summarizes the entries in Imants Skrastiņš ‘personal diary, which were made between 2003 and 2006. year.
