“We would need at least 5 additional nurses in the emergency room,” explains the director. Solutions for returning home or prevention messages have been disseminated in an attempt not to overload the beds.

The tension also affects other establishments in the sector, in particular Alençon, which can no longer receive Covid cases from other hospitals, except “critical cases”. “The solution for us would be to enlarge the Covid sector and therefore to close beds for other pathologies. “Difficult measures for caregivers who invite patients to receive their 3rd dose at the vaccination center, which has returned to Carré du Perche.
“People can make an appointment with Moderna even if they have had Pfizer. The times are much shorter and according to the studies, it is very interesting to have a booster with another vaccine. It is therefore not necessary to wait for January, ”slips the director. Once again, the teams are preparing for a busy holiday in the hospital.
Practice
For emergencies, it is strongly recommended to call 15 to be guided by a regulator who will refer the patient. Going directly to the emergency room during this winter period turns out to be quite counterproductive for caregivers.
