New York: Police operation in the German consulate because of a letter with dubious substance

New York. A suspicious letter sent on Tuesday evening (local time) led to a police operation in the German consulate general in New York. A local police officer told the German Press Agency that a dubious substance had been found in the post.

Further details were initially not given. A spokesman for the German representation confirmed a routine examination of a substance. However, this turned out to be harmless.
