Latvia also has a final in the European Youth Championship in 10 dances

Germo Somers and Ksenija Razina from Riga started very well in 10 dances (5 Standard dances + 5 Latin American dances) of the European Youth Championship (16-18 years) in Minsk, who won the 4th place in the competition of 17 pairs, informs the press secretary of the Latvian Sports Dance Federation Ivars Bācis .

We have already reported that last weekend Rigans Krīviņš / Marija Golubeva won a bronze medal in 10 dances at the World Championships for Juniors (14-15 years old), but Somers and Razina repeated almost the same in the European Youth Championships. Given the situation around Belarus, far fewer dancers took part in the championship this time than before, when the number of pairs exceeded thirty.

Given Germo and Ksenia’s steady performance, SDK’s Mirada had a good chance of reaching the finals. The Latvian vice-champions overcame the quarter-finals and semi-finals with a split of 4-5. the result is safely in the final six. The Latvian couple received a better rating in Standard Dances (3rd-4th place), Tango even won 2nd place, but was fifth in Latin American dances. And if not for the sixth place in Cha-Cha-Cha and Pasodoble, then another bronze medal could be won for Latvia. However, the 4th place is a great success, because both danced in the final of the championship for the first time.

A month ago, Latvian champions Artūrs Biele / Marija Elizabete Kravčuka won the 11th place in the world championship in the fight against the first pairs of countries.

Winning all 10 dances, the second Russian runner Danila Boriskin / Polina Kulakova became the continental champions. A convincing second place was won by the 9th place winners of the World Championship from Spain Mark Mateos / Stella Akopjan, who were just one point ahead of Biel and Kravchuk in the beginning of November. The bronze medal went to the home team Nikita Bijel / Maria Moisejeva, who finished the final six in the world championship.
