Halo Infinite is best when you stick to the basics. The shooting is fantastic, especially in conjunction with the new launch hook. The story is well written and engaging, although it lacks an epic conclusion that would stylishly close the trilogy from 343 Industries. But while I’m glad the developers at 343 Industries are experimenting with new ideas, I’m not a fan of the generic, repetitive, open-world format. Fortunately, this does not have a negative impact on more linear missions, so for the most part you will still get the classic Halo experience. However, it is multiplayer, which is the main currency for Halo Infinite. It doesn’t bring anything new to the series, but thanks to its great gameplay and simplicity, it’s extremely fun.
