VIVA – Recent studies have found that consuming strong medicine, Viagra reduce risk Alzheimer up to 69 percent. In fact, the researchers suggest the potent drug could be prescribed to prevent dementia.

The study found that Viagra slashed the risk of Alzheimer’s by two-thirds. Scientists claim the potent drug has been shown to help improve brain health and reduce levels of a toxic protein that triggers dementia.

Experts analyzed data on 7.2 million US adults and found that regular users of Viagra had a 69 percent lower chance of being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s over the next six years.

Paramedics said the findings, published in the journal Nature Aging, suggest a small blue pill could soon be prescribed to treat dementia.

Another Strong Drug: Sildenafil
Researchers are now planning a new study to test the benefits of sildenafil, the generic version of Viagra, in early Alzheimer’s patients. A team from the Cleveland Clinic looked at whether any of the 1,600 approved drugs could be reused to address the underlying cause of the disease.

“Sildenafil, which has been shown to significantly improve cognition and memory in preclinical models, is presented as the best drug candidate,” said lead researcher Dr Feixiong Cheng, from the Cleveland Institute of Clinical Genomic Medicine.

“Sildenafil may have a neuroprotective effect and reduce levels of the toxic tau protein.”
