The two-hour concert is expected to feature songs from the well-known band The Cure, as well as new music. The special guests of the concert are the Scottish Postbank Association “The Twilight Sad”.
L Tips Agency notes that, recognizing the musical and cultural significance of the British rock band, it will not be a one-day concert, but a set of events that will take place during the week starting on October 3rd.
Tickets for the concert will be available for pre-sale on the website “bilesuserviss.lv” from December 10 at 10 am.
The Cure was founded in 1976 in Crawley, England. Its composition has changed several times over the years, but vocalist, guitarist and lead songwriter Robert Smith is the only permanent member.
The organizers of the concert point out that with the album “Seventeen Seconds”, the band gradually turned to a new, gloomier style, which together with Smith’s stage image influenced the emerging genre of Gothic rock, as well as the entire subculture that developed around this genre. Since then, “The Cure” is considered one of the pioneers and brightest representatives of the Gothic rock. The band’s most commercial album was Disintegration in 1989.
During his career, the band has released 13 studios, several concert and favorite albums, and more than 40 singles, selling more than 30 million records. In 2019, The Cure was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
