The compact SUV Renault Kadjar has been on sale with one small facelift since 2015. Next year will be replaced by a new generation, but it will be given a new name – Austral. Renault has published it in a press release.
–
The name, evocative of Australia, comes from the Latin word “australis”. According to the press release, the name “is written in full and indicates the French origin of the manufacturer”. If you see the origin of the manufacturer in it, we leave it to you, but Renault promises that “we will learn all the secrets of the name in the story ‘Once upon a time there was an Austral'”.

In any case, the Australian will be 451 cm long, so compared to the kadjar, it will grow a hair, and will take five people. Renault sees in it the continuation of the offensive in the C-segment, where the SUV-coupe Arkana was headed, and the purely electric Megane E-Tech will soon visit there.
